Cattleya × irrorata Remake of a naturally occurring orchid hybrid first described in 1859 as a Laelia. The cross has also been named as the man-made hybrids Schilleriana grex in 1891 and as L.C. Elegans in 1898. It does not appear to be in cultivation from any other source. Our plants are from the cross, Cattleya intermedia Alba x purpurata venosa, which has a rich purple lip and purple veining on the petals. Expect up to 7, scented white flowers with purple markings reaching 18 to 20cm across.

We grow ours cool but intermediate and warm temperatures also give good results. Bright conditions suitable for Cattleyas or brighter will give the best flowering.
