A hardy garden orchid have been raised from seed of a plant grown in the North of England which has survived temperatures down to minus fifteen degrees Centigrade.

They can produce up to 20 pink, purple and white flowers reaching 4cm across.

Established Bletillas will produce more and more flowers each year, best planted in sun or half shade in the garden but also happy in a pot on the patio. Plants grown in pots may need some extra protection in a cold winter.
