Cypripedium reginae

Cypripedium reginae, the Showy Lady’s Slipper Orchid is a hardy North American orchid species which grow naturally on the edges of marshy areas. Plants can reach 60cm tall with one or two flowers, 10cm across. The leaves and flowers are covered in soft hairs. This species will form a clump with time.

Grow in a cool, moist area with shade in the hotter parts of the day. An open but moisture retentive substrate is preferred, we use equal parts of grit, sand, perlite and fine bark. These smaller plants will benefit from being kept in pots for a couple of years and can be planted out in a suitable position in the garden, if preferred, after this period.

Plants are supplied growing in an 8cm pot.
