Dactylorhiza praetermissa, the southern marsh orchid is the tallest of Britain's Dactylorhizas and can make stunning displays in well drained but moisture retentive soil or in a pot on the patio in partial shade. Plants can reach 70cm, the petals are pink with darker spots and swirls on the petals and lip, the leaves are generally an even green colour. Occurs naturally in damp meadows as far north as North Yorkshire . Each plant is raised individually from seed (of British origin) to increase the biodiversity of the species.
