Paphiopedilum delenatii

Paphiopedilum delenatii is a scented mottled leaved slipper orchid from the mountains of Vietnam. The rounded, long-lasting flowers have broad pink petals which can span 8cm, the pouch is a darker pink, they are also covered in fine hairs. These plants have been raised from seed from pollinating two different plants which are so vigorous they regularly produce 2 flowers per spike. Paphiopedilums generally grow well in moderate shade, with frequent watering so the plants do not dry out completely in the growing season, with less frequent watering in the winter. In their natural habitat the temperature often falls to 9⁰C at night in the winter but the growing season is warm. Plants are growing in 7cm pots.
